El Centro Jr. and Sr. High School

El Centro Jr./Sr. High School accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and all our courses are UC a-g approved. We are open 244 school days per year and provide 300 minutes of school per day.

We strive to create a school environment where students feel safe and welcome, to ensure this all staff receive professional development centered around social-emotional learning, diversity, equity and inclusion, trauma informed teaching strategies, while also heavily focusing on literacy and graduation requirements. We have a full team to serve our students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and are a fully inclusive school model.

Students also have access to the HiSET (High School Equivalency Testing) and receive Career Technical Education (CTE) from Northern California Construction Training and Culinary Arts.

We also offer Dual Enrollment college courses for high school students, and a traditional AA pathway for graduates through Lake Tahoe Community College, we have weekly mentoring sessions in each classroom, visual arts and dance, creative writing, spoken word, and Female Empowerment.
