On January 24, 2017, the California Association of Probation Services Administrators (CAPSA) presented Sacramento County Probation Assistant Chief Deputy Coleen Kincheloe the 2016 CAPSA Sacramento Region Employee of the Year award at the 28th Annual CAPSA Conference in Pismo Beach, California. The award is presented to a probation manager who has made significant contributions to the CAPSA organization, probation operations and/or the greater field of community corrections.
Assistant Chief Deputy Kincheloe manages the Probation Department's Training Unit, Background Investigations, social media, and department communications and is an integral part of the Professional Standards and Training Division team, which provides support to the Office of the Chief Probation Officer, as well as ancillary support to Juvenile and Adult Operations.
"Coleen is truly deserving of this recognition as Regional Employee of the Year. She works tirelessly to strengthen and reinforce the department's mission and vision through outreach and training, including recruitment and hiring. The impact of her contributions can be found in the framework of every positive thing we are striving to do," said Chief Probation Officer Lee Seale. "She is helping us connect with our community and simultaneously helping us build a department the community can connect with."
Recipients of the CAPSA Regional Employee of the Year Award are nominated and selected by their CAPSA colleagues within their respective regions. CAPSA is an affiliate of the Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC) and assists the CPOC in developing correctional standards throughout the state; assuming a leadership role in the mobilization, coordination, and implementation of correctional programs that provide for public protection and the prevention of crime and delinquency; and providing service to the courts.
