Established under California Welfare and Institutions Code § 233, the Delinquency Prevention Commission (DPC) is a court-appointed body committed to preventing juvenile delinquency and promoting positive outcomes for youth in Sacramento County. Members are appointed by the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court with the concurrence of the Juvenile Court Judge. Recommendations for membership may also be submitted by current commissioners.

The DPC also plays an advisory role, conducting site visits to juvenile facilities, evaluating programs, and providing recommendations to the Juvenile Court, Board of Supervisors, and other stakeholders to improve the local juvenile justice system.

Through its efforts, the DPC strives to ensure that all youth are treated fairly, remain connected to their communities, and have access to meaningful opportunities for rehabilitation and success.
