MODIFICATION/TERMINATION (PC 1203.3)

This allows courts to lessen or terminate a defendant's probation ahead of schedule.

DISMISSAL/EXPUNGEMENT (PC 1203.4)

An expungement/dismissal is a post-conviction opportunity to release the defendants from most of the adverse consequences of a conviction.   It effectively dismisses their record of conviction.

FELONY REDUCTION (PC 17)

This is a petition asking the court to reduce a felony offense to a misdemeanor. This is only possible if the felony is a wobbler, meaning the offense could have been originally charged as either a misdemeanor or a felony.
